Laika House   is a modern, newly-refurnished private home, steps from the beach and right in the heart of The Village at Captiva. Its large, sunny front porch overlooks the landscaped grounds which are surrounded by mature, tropical forest. Laika also has a screened porch, a private heated pool (new in 2004).

Laika has outdoor showers downstairs as well, convenient after your return from the beach. Inside, Laika has been refurnished in an elegant and tasteful style including new hardwood floors. There are three bedrooms, and two full baths. Behind the Laika House is the pool and backyard, and then a thick tropical forest completely empty of human inhabitants. That means plenty of peace and quiet, fresh breezes, and wonderful nature.

Laika's front grounds were recently landscaped. There is ample privacy for sunbathing on the front deck or swimming in the back. But the back yard borders on the largest expanse of natural jungle anywhere on Captiva. You're sure to see plenty of wildlife, including exotic, tropical birds lazily strolling amid the flowering shrubs.

The Gulf beach is only steps away along sandy, private Laika Lane (no public parking, and virtually no traffic). There is a brand new kitchen, new carpeting, and French doors out to the porch. It is really adorable! This house gives you everything and is quite a bargain.
