The Pool House   is a large, modern home near the bay, with a heated private pool. Though conveniently located in the Captiva Village Center, it's a short walk down one-block Laika Lane to the beach. The huge upper-level screen porch wraps around the east side of the house, and offers terrific views out over the bay. This is a great place from which to watch sunrises, ospreys, and boats!

This modern abode sits high among the trees of the tropical jungle, but is open to the sun on the south side. Its spacious living room has a cathedral ceiling and a sliding glass doors opening onto the screened porch. The Pool House kitchen is fully stocked and has a microwave and a dishwasher. (The pool screen enclosure has been removed.) There is a digital home theatre entertainment center and free wireless broadband Internet (see details below).

The Pool House downstairs is a spacious multipurpose suite with refrigerator, entertainment center, and a murphy bed, plus a nice full bathroom. The large room has French doors at the entrance, plus French doors opening onto the pool patio. This is an ideal, easy-access space for those who wish to avoid up and down stairs.

Home Office Technology and Entertainment

The Pool House is equipped as a great home office with free, unlimited long distance telephone and broadband Internet, plus plenty of entertainment. We've installed high-speed Internet (3MB/sec downloads) with a hardware firewall, 54G wireless access (even works on the beach), and four-port Ethernet switch. The livingroom entertainment center features a state-of-the-art home theatre system with large screen (32-inch CRT) television, cable, six speaker surround system with subwoofer, progressive-scan DVD 5-disc changer, component video connections, Dolby Digital and DTS decoder, CD / AM / FM. It plays many types of recorded CDs, including MP3 and JPEG files and even DVD-R discs. In the master bedroom is another stereo TV with cable.

Bedrooms

There are three bedrooms (with king, queen and twin beds) and two baths upstairs, and inflatable beds are available. The king and queen bedrooms have sliding doors opening onto the large wrap-around screen porch... sip your morning coffee while enjoying great sunrises, or relax in the afternoon shade and watch boats sail past. All of the rooms are bright and clean, and comfortably furnished. The master bedroom has a cable TV. The downstairs suite has a murphy bed (pull down) and a full bath with very large walk-in shower. There is a full size cable TV in the downstairs suite.

Pool

The Pool House takes its name from the great custom swimming pool. Completely private for you, the angular pool is well suited for both recreation and exercise. Note the pool screen enclosure has been removed and replaced by a wooden fence. There is room for swimming, a party, and games at the same time!

Wildlife

An osprey (left) eats a fish on the Pool House grounds. The snowy egret (right) waits on the ground below for any scraps the osprey might drop. Don't be surprised to see a variety of large aquatic birds wandering through the yard.
