Broadband Network

Many of our vacation rental homes (see this list) are equipped by the owners with residential broadband - free high-speed Internet which is always connected and doesn't tie up your telephone. Unlimited service is free to guests, and is provided and suported through either the local telephone carrier (Sprint DSL) or cable TV provider (Comcast). Typical service is 1.5Mb for DSL and 3.0Mb for cable. Some homes also provide hardware firewall (NAT router) and/or wireless connectivity for your convenience. Unfortunately, American Realty of Captiva cannot provide technical support. However, we have found Sprint and Comcast to be pleasantly responsive to minor trouble reports. Network services are furnished by the owners, are subject to change without notice (call us for current status), and are not guaranteed. We recommend always bringing your own Ethernet cable just in case.

Push2Talk Service Description and Instructions: The Push2Talk service is an easy way to talk to us now. It's also handy if you do not wish to dial our toll-free number, or for international guests for whom toll-free 800 numbers are not accessible. The call is completely free for you, and your telephone number will not be disclosed or sold to third parties.

• The Push2Talk system will dial your number, then connect you to American Realty of Captiva's office.

During our regular office hours, we'll be standing by and can help you immediately. Our office hours are:

• 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM, Saturday
• 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Sunday

If we're not in the office, please just leave your name and number on our voice mail system and we'll call you back at our earliest opportunity.

Free, Unlimited Long Distance Telephone

During your stay with American Realty of Captiva, you'll receive free, unlimited long distance telephone service from your vacation home to the entire United States and approximately 50 major foreign countries. There are no special setup requirements, no tricks and no hidden costs. This makes it easy for you to connect to the Internet and email, as well as to say hello to friends and family (maybe boast a bit about the fine weather you're enjoying).

Cell Phones

There are no cellular telephone towers in Captiva. Cell phone service is available from towers in neighboring islands and line-of-sight across the Pine Island Sound. Performance is usually excellent on the bay side of Captiva, and sometimes non-existant on the beach side.
