These amazing high-resolution satellite images of Captiva Island, Florida, show surprising details of our favorite tropical paradise. One can easily see the white-sand beaches, palm trees, pleasure boat docks, tennis courts, swimming pools, golf course, and sandy lanes under shady trees. Everyone loves to visit Captiva, but rarely get to observe this popular vacation destination from such an eagle-eye vantage.

The photo on the left shows Captiva from the southern tip at Blind Pass (bottom) to the northern terminus of Captiva Drive at the entrance to South Seas Plantation (top). The uninhabited tropical island to the right is Buck Key, covered with dense mangrove forests and fascinating water channels ideal for exploration in canoe or kayak.
