This image shows the southern tip of Captiva Island meeting the northern tip of Sanibel Island. Both islands are in the Gulf of Mexico west of Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Florida. The meeting of the two islands is known as Blind Pass, and a small bridge joins Captiva to Sanibel. There is no other access to Captiva (other than boat or helicopter), which explains its delightfully relaxed atmosphere. Fishing is excellent at Blind Pass, with the tide producing a swift current between the Gulf of Mexico and the Pine Island Sound.
