 Simply relax in paradise by the ultra-private pool, or on the lovely beach and listen to sound of the waves crashing onto the sand. Read. Nap. Have cocktails. Watch sunsets with toes in the sand. Eat great food.  Enjoy great company.  Sleep late.  Get lots of sunshine.  Enjoy dips in the fabulous and ultra-private pool & hot tub.  Totally free from all of the hustle/bustle of back home.

  3. Fishing charters and gear, see the Manatee that laze by its sea wall. Jensen’s Marina – (239) 472-5800. About a 2 minute walk from the house – turn right at Island store’s 4-way stop.
  4. Dolphin cruise – do with the kids for sure; Excursion to Cabbage Key for lunch (and lots of other fun excursions) to really cool spots and neighboring little boat-only accessible islands and famous lunch spots. – Call Captiva Cruises. Leaves from South Seas’ Plantation or McCarthy’s Marina. (239) 472-5300.
  5. Kayak and Canoe rental and more all on the BAY. Immediately cate-corner from The Island Store. McCarthy’s Marina (239) 472-5200.

Captiva – The Island Store – tiny. Essentials and more. Plus it has beer, wine and liquor, ice.

Sanibel (30 minute drive) – Baileys or Jerrys– big grocery stores.

  1. Latte Da Coffee Shop, deli and ice cream shop – Between house and Island Store.
  2. Starbucks – Chadwick Square, a 15-minute walk to left from 4-way stop. In high-season it will be jam-packed, line out the door.

  1. Awesome, fresh seafood, daily, at the Island Store in high-season. Take home & cook.
  2. Keylime Bistro – diagonally across the street. All ages. Great. Awesome Bloody Marys. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. No reservations.
  3. C. Otters – Between The Island Store and the house. All ages. Good. Lots of draft beers. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. No reservations.
  4. Captiva Pizza – directly across the street. Delivery and carry-out only.
  5. The Mucky Duck – on beach at end of Andy Rosse Lane. All ages. Good. Love the place. Lunch and dinner. Tons of outdoor eating space for bar food. Full menu is for tables inside. Long waits in high-season.  The most awesome place for viewing sunsets.  No reservations.
  6. The Bubble Room – across Captiva Dr. from The Island Store. Kids 10 & under love it. OK. Great cakes/pies. No outdoor seating.  Very unusual and eclectic interior. No reservations
  7. Cantina Captiva. Mexican – around the corner past The Island Store. All ages. Good.
  8. Sunshine Seafood Café. White table cloth. Great. Next to Cantina Captiva. For reservations call 239-472-6200.
  9. The Green Flash – a 10-minute walk, right at 4-way stop at Island Store. White table cloth. Good. Great view of the bay. For reservations call 239-472-3337.
  10. Doc Ford’s – a 15 minute walk. In South Seas, just past entrance. All ages. Good.

  1. The Lazy Flamingo Bar & Grill. All ages. Great atmosphere, only 7 tables and a big bar. Long wait during high-season. No reservations.

  3. The Mad Hatter – white table cloth. Great. Just across Blind Pass on right before you get to The Flamingo and Sunset Grill. For reservations call 239-472-0033.
