COVID 19 Update April 1, 2020
As of today, in response to Executive order 20-91 issued by Florida Governor Desantis, the office of American Realty of Captiva will close immediately and staff will begin working from home. This and earlier COVID 19 executive orders have created a constantly evolving situation which directly affects vacation home rentals and amenities advertised on our (and partner)web sites. Your private heated pool and in-ground spa tub await. Warmed water from the spa pours into the main pool through a small waterfall. The main entrance includes a driveway of pavers surrounded by fantastic trees and landscaping.
Spacious Captiva House is carefully designed and furnished to provide for all your needs (and more). An elevator carries you between levels, from the garage and pool level to the upper floor with the master suites.
Up on the roof is a captain’s walk for sunning, catching the sunrise in your bathrobe, enjoying sunset with a cocktail, or just enjoying a nice sea breeze and the view of Captiva’s treetops. This is one of the highest points on Captiva, and not for those uncomfortable with heights.
The grounds on the east side of Captiva House are quite amazing: mature tropical trees, manicured foliage, and flowering plants. On the sunny west side is a private, heated pool. Decks on three levels (plus the poolside patio) face west to take advantage of the afternoon Florida sunshine and breezes.
When you enter Captiva House through the main entrance, you step from tropical gardens into a lovely entrance foyer. Beyond is the living room with its premium furnishings and large-screen HDTV (sorry, fireplaces are not available to guests). Ceiling fans are installed throughout the home. The elevator has three stops: pool and ground level (and garage), main level, and upper level.
The kitchen is modern and perfectly equipped. Ample counter space makes it ideal for feeding a house full of hungry guests. The breakfast bar seats five. The main dining table has six chairs and enjoys a bay-window facing north. Open the French doors onto the main level deck overlooking the pool, where another table offers the option of outdoor dining. The gas grill is down a flight of stairs on the poolside patio.
Beat a retreat from the midday sun (or enjoy after dark): the cool Captiva House game rooms! In the downstairs playroom is the pool table, and in the pool foyer is the air hockey table. Plenty of room for players and spectators!
The upper level hallway has a sitting area with wall sculpture, and is accessed by the main staircase or the elevator. Doors lead to three full bedroom suites, as well as the covered western lanai and the outside stairs to the rooftop sundeck.
The grand master suite must be seen to be believed. The entrance is to the right as you exit the elevator on the upper level, just past the wall sculpture. There is a queen bed, plus a Queen Anne roll arm loveseat in the bright bay window. A large HDTV is waiting within the classic TV armoire.
Within the master suite is the truly grand bathroom. Enter past the wet bar to find a spacious and beautifully illuminated room of premium tile and antique wall treatment. A common theme at Captiva House: everything has been well thought out. Each of the three vanities is perfectly lit. Two vanities have sinks, and the third has a chair for comfort in applying makeup. An oversize tile shower with glass door supplements the big jet tub under a stained-glass window. There are two walk-in closets, one in the bathroom with automatic lights and one serving as a well-stocked linen closet. Finally, a separate chamber within the bathroom houses the toilet and bidet.
The other two suites on the upper level are also quiet and spacious. One on the southwest side of Captiva House takes advantage of sunny afternoon exposure with its bay window and sitting area. There s a nice HDTV and a lovely bathroom, with a large vanity having two sink bowls. A combination tub with shower and linen closet complete the suite.
The suite on the southeast side of Captiva House has a bay window overlooking the east tropical landscaping. It has an en-suite bathroom with large tile shower.
On the main level are two more bedrooms. The suite on the southwest side has two twins and an en-suite bathroom with tub / shower. The bedroom on the southeast side has a queen bed and a separate entrance into the main level guest bathroom.
