SPECIAL !! $500.00 off  July 2019 – Open Weeks Only

Surfcomber is directly on the Gulf of Mexico beach. The house is located along Captiva Drive, in the desirable and sparsely populated “Gold Coast” section of Captiva Island. This is a great location with lots of privacy and a gorgeous stretch of white-sand beach. The grounds on the east side of the house are an elegant and lovingly-tended garden with cute pathways among flowers, tropical plants, and trees.

Surfcomber has a large private heated pool with in-ground spa tub. The house is spacious and capitalizes on its beachfront location: kitchen, dining room, living room, master bedroom and screened porch all overlook the beach. Enjoy the 50-inch television in the living room with its fireplace and cathedral ceiling (sorry, fireplaces are not available to guests). The four bedroom suites each have a full bath, and the master suite (with private elevator) has a screened veranda overlooking the beach. The entire house is designer decorated.

The Kitchen at Surfcomber is incredible, starting with the great beach view looking out over the sink. To call this kitchen well-equipped is an understatement: it’s ready for the family chef with a wide variety of baking pans, cookware, utensils, serving dishes, and a big collection of spices… plus plenty of counter space, a tiled center island, and ample storage in many cabinets and drawers. A Whirlpool dual wall oven offers Accubake and a convection mode. The Kitchenaide 5-burner glass-top cook surface is surrounded by tiled counters. A Samsung French-Door refrigerator has a freezer drawer on the bottom, while a full-size Scottsman icemaker handles ice production for endless chilled drinks. The dishwasher is a Whirlpool quiet model. The kitchen also has the laundry equipment, with a Whirlpool Cabrio high-efficiency washer and a Maytag dryer.

A sampling of the kitchen provisions: microwave, blender, 4-slice Cuisinart toaster, Mr. Coffee, electric and stove-top kettles, food processor, power mixer, bean grinder, electric knife sharpener, cook timer, serving trays, cutting boards, potato masher, chef’s knives, collanders, wooden salad bowls, metal bowls, Corningware (oven-to-microwave casserole dishes with lids), many serving platters, rolling pin, cake pans, sets of measuring cups and spoons, roasting pan, mixing bowls, and even vases.

For dining, there are many sizes of Corelle plates, bowls, and serving dishes, plus glass salad and dessert bowls and plates. Drinks can be served in five different sets (12 each) of glasses (various types), insulated plastic tumblers for the pool, glass and ceramic coffee mugs and teacups – and of course pitchers, ice bucket, and tongs. Stemware includes elegant wine and martini glasses. You’re really going to enjoy your stay at Surfcomber!

The master suite is truly impressive. Enter from the upper level foyer past a sitting area to find a king-size four-poster bed and a grand view of the Gulf of Mexico beach. The elevator also opens directly into this suite. A large HDTV with HD service keeps you entertained, while two large dressers and a huge walk-in closet (plus separate linen closet) get your clothing hung and organized. There is another sitting area in front of the glass wall, which opens onto a private screened veranda overlooking the beach. In the master bathroom, find a soaking jet-tub, a large glass-wall shower, and dual-basin tile-topped vanity.

Two other king suites are located on the main level. Each has a large flatscreen TV, big dressers, bedside tables, closets, and elegant drapes with blinds. On the south, guest suite 1 overlooks the pool and sun patio. Its large bathroom (also serving as the guest bathroom) has an oversize shower. On the north, guest suite 2 has a private bathroom with tub and shower.

The third guest suite, on the upper level, has two twin beds, a walk-in closet, and flatscreen TV. A private sundeck overlooks the tropical garden on the east side of the house. The en-suite bathroom has a glass-wall shower.

Surfcomber is a lovely home close to Blind Pass (where you cross over to Captiva Island). I brought my mom (who was 99). She loved looking out over the ocean & watching her extended family have a great time. The ocean was in our back yard.
The pool was large, deep & heated. The home had a large elevator, extremely handy, as the house was 3 floors. Parking was a bit tight, as we had several cars, but overall the home was very clean & comfortable for all of us (8). American Realty is a pleasure to work with. We have been coming to Captive over 10 years.
